Yes! you read it right. India is having 4450 startups and this number is in the increasing range and there are 1000’s of Edtech social media pages who are urging to turn their pages into startups.

As Covid is giving a skyrocket ride to Edtech Startups the craze of launching an Edtech company has gradually increased. As people moved fully into online studies and fall in love with earning more certificates, not only Edtech but also other Industries like Smart Phone and Computers, Broadband, Furniture, Interior designs were also started to target the Online Learners. But, yet Edtech has not shown its full potential to its Audience. These startups were mainly Focusing on K12 students, JEE, NEET, Online courses, and other Government exams preparing students. Though, they have the right structure to reach the right people, the quality of education through these portals is not yet satisfied its users and future users.

As Lockdown is still continuing in India, Central, and State governments have launched TV channels to teach students who can’t able to afford a Smart Phone and Internet expenses. The population of these people is higher than the population of people who can enroll their children in any online course. Even if they could afford a smartphone and the Internet, it will be much difficult for them to afford an online course.

Why this big number? Because there is a Market which’s not yet filled fully.

A recent deal between Two companies has given some fuel to this number, after that deal, everyone who knows to code is planning to launch one startup. One mistake they are doing is major startups were only focusing on Technology, hence they are keen to teach coding. Startups also targeting parents by marketing like that they could make their child the next Bill gates if they enroll them in their course. parents are believing this and also they are in a Fear of Missing Out as well as they want to provide their kids the best Education.

But, these startups are not giving much focus on Cultural studies, Disciplinary studies, History, Business studies, and other non-technology studies. Parents want their children to learn everything which could make them a great person in this society, they are putting an equal effort on their children to learn these as much as they are putting in teaching their child to earn more. There are not only children who want to learn to code but also want to learn some other field. They need an option and they have it.

Though there are Frees Resources to pursue these courses, people still run behind the paid course the reason for this may be the quality of that Study or that company, but the main thing is Recognition. Learners and users need some sort of Recognition like a Certificate, Internship, Topping the Leaderboard, Goodies, and others. These features were redirecting some of the learners from Learning the course to finishing the course.

Future of Edtech? The future is now. Companies were now giving one on one coaching, Live training, Recorded studies but the real show is yet to come. Yes.

We still have Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality which could hugely help in practice-based learning, once these technologies start to play their game in a huge manner… No, I don’t want to reveal everything now. Just be ready to enjoy the ride.

Ps: I have only covered only a few about the Edtech startups and its nature, more will come in future write-ups.

Thanks for reading :)
